RESPECT POLICY
THIS IS A QUEER SPACE .
LITTLE GAY BROTHER EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ANYONE - AS LONG AS YOU’RE OPEN TO EVERYONE.
We have written the respect and door policies for London’s most iconic clubs, including Fabric, Drumsheds, Printworks, XOYO, and every venue in Hackney Wick.
We exist to create spaces where people feel free, respected, celebrated, and seen. If you can’t actively contribute to that, this space is not for you.
If you are not part of the LGBTQIA+ community, you are a guest in this space- and we expect you to act with respect, awareness, and care.
A BRAVE SPACE, NOT A SAFE SPACE
We recognise that “safe space” means different things to different people.
Instead, we choose to build a Brave space.
A Brave space asks you to:
Show up as your authentic self
Take responsibility for your actions
Respect people’s differences, even when it challenges you
Actively contribute to a culture of care- for yourself, and for others
We strive to create an environment where no one feels marginalised, harassed, or unwelcome- but this requires collective accountability.
ZERO TOLERANCE
We have zero tolerance for:
Racism
Sexism
Homophobia
Biphobia
Transphobia
Ableism
Body shaming
Harassment or intimidation
Abuse of power
Discrimination of any kind
This includes prejudice based on: age, race, ethnicity, nationality, class, gender identity, gender expression, disability, language, religion, or appearance.
Anyone engaging in harmful behaviour will be removed and banned from future Little Gay Brother events.
CONSENT IS MANDATORY
Do not touch anyone without clear, enthusiastic consent
This includes dancing, flirting, and entering personal space
Consent can be withdrawn at any time
No exceptions.
RESPECT ALL BODIES
Your body is beautiful.
Other people’s bodies are none of your business.
We celebrate:
Queer, trans, and non-binary bodies
Disabled bodies
All sizes, expressions, and identities
Little Gay Brother is a space where trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people are prioritised, respected, and protected.
Respect people’s pronouns and identities at all times
Do not question, challenge, or police anyone’s gender
Deliberate misgendering or transphobic behaviour will result in removal
If you take issue with this, this space is not for you.
ANTI-RACISM COMMITMENT
Little Gay Brother is actively anti-racist.
We recognise that Racism exists within society and within queer spaces- and we are committed to challenging it.
We will:
Refuse entry or remove anyone engaging in racist behaviour or language
Reject culturally insensitive or appropriative dress
Protect and support those experiencing discrimination
Hold people accountable for harmful behaviour
Only work with partners who align with our values
COMMUNITY CARE
We expect you to:
Take responsibility for your wellbeing
Stay hydrated, take breaks, know your limits

Community care is part of the experience.
WELFARE
We have a dedicated welfare team here to support you in a non-judgmental way. They are there to advise, as well as look after you should you need a moment.
If you see someone in distress, tell staff, security, or welfare immediately
All reports are taken seriously and handled with care
Our teams (security, welfare, production) are here to support you
Abuse, harassment, or discrimination towards anyone- including staff- will not be tolerated. Look after yourself. Look after each other.
If you are a repeat visitor to welfare, you will be asked to leave when you’re safely able to, and you will not be allowed to attend our events again.
STAFF + SECURITY ACCOUNTABILITY
This policy applies to everyone- including staff, security, performers, and partners.
All staff are expected to respect pronouns, identities, and boundaries
Any staff member acting in breach of this policy will be removed from their role immediately

We actively brief and expect our venues, collaborators, and partners to adopt and uphold these standards.

We encourage:
Connection over phones
Presence over performance
Expression with awareness
